The Illusions
A column, broken once. Black lace above.
ZAHA holds a column silhouette from bustier to hem, broken at exactly one point: a high slit through the floor-length lower, cut into a black-and-white botanical print. The strapless bustier in black lace sets a rigid upper line, fixed and unmoving. Below it, the column runs long and narrow until the slit interrupts it, releasing movement the rest of the garment withholds. Print and cut share the same restraint — pattern held in monochrome, structure held in one silhouette. The slit is the single permission granted within an otherwise closed line.
- Strapless bustier, black lace construction
- Column silhouette, floor length
- High slit, single break point
Held as commission only — 10–15 days, standard sizing or bespoke fit.
